Cerebral palsy is a disorder of movement, muscle tone or posture that is caused by damage that occurs to the immature, developing brain, most often before birth.
The physical therapy provided like Muscle training and exercises to increase strength, flexibility, balance, motor development and mobility.

Provide support to issues like trunk control, rolling and grasping. Braces or splints may be recommended for the children which support help with function, such as improved walking.


Doctors classify CP according to the main type of movement disorder involved. Depending on which areas of the brain are affected, one or more of the following movement disorders can occur:

-> Stiff muscles (spasticity)
-> Uncontrollable movements (dyskinesia)
->Poor balance and coordination (ataxia)
->Mixed Cerebral Palsy -Some people have symptoms of more than one type of CP.
The most common type of mixed CP is spastic-dyskinetic CP.

  • Cervical spine (vertebrae C1 through C7, which contain a total of eight cervical nerve roots)
  • Thoracic spine (vertebrae T1 through T12)
  • Lumbar spine (vertebrae L1 through L5)
  • Sacral spine (vertebrae S1 through S5)

Each of the four sections controls different parts of the body. In most cases, a person will lose some or all control and feeling in the limbs that are below the spinal cord injury.
